Extreme Brutal Death

A long-running 'zine important to the Brazilian Christian Metal scene. Written in in Portuguese, EBD covers both local bands and the transnational Christian metal scene. Recently, approximately one issue has been published each year. At least two English-language editions have been released, the first in 2005, and the latest, in 2023.

For a historical overview of the Brazilian Christian Metal scene, see Heaven's Metal issue #82. Many South American countries have had 'zines representing their "White Metal" music scenes published at one time or another. An example from Peru is Sangre Suficiente, written in Spanish.

Marcus Moberg (whose scholarly work is recommended as an entry point to understand Christian metal globally) includes this 'zine as an artifact of a music scene "characterized by a more confrontational stance towards secular metal and a higher degree of evangelistic fervor and intensity."
