About Sound Choice

A general market music magazine, Sound Choice provided fair coverage of Christian music, much of which was written by Jamie Lee Rake.

Rake, and the Christian music coverage in general, were also subject of feedback in issue #9. Interesting tension is also reflected in the issue's reviews of Nudge Squidfish albums. One album reflects a "mosh of evangelical Christianity" and other elements, where the second reviewer cites the artist as a "disillusioned Christian... throwing in some eastern philosophy for good measure."

Overall, the magazine skews heavily toward non-mainstream music, and the portion which is Christian Music (by any definition) is quite fractional. Still, you can find reviews of The Wauhobs, Blackhouse, The Lumpkins Family, and a great number of additional artists of various stripes.
