Published until 1962 by the United Lutheran Church In America. In 1962 the church merged with others, forming the Lutheran Church In America. The publication was "reset" at that time, with a new focus and numbering scrolled back to volume 1 number 1, in January 1963.

This event happens again when the Evangelical Lutheran Church In America is formed in 1988.
